Presentation

The round table will gather members of association from Lyon, who have played a role of information smugglers between latin America and France for decades. In a context marked by mistrust regarding the media and the expansion of fake news, the experience of actors specialised in transmitting latin-american news towards a french-speaking audience aims at more fame and questionment in the diversity of their approaches. The exchanges will be organised around 3 points : the history of these media, marqued by various engagements but all crossed by the questions of exile,  the return to democracy in latin-american countries and dialogue bteween cultures ; the difficulties and solutions set up to diversify the approaches and built loyalty un the audience, such as the creation if cultural events or the consolidation of readers and translators networks ; finally their look on the political, economic and cultural news from latin America, and to way they transmit it when facing the competition with other media.
